Stuart's pond - page 3

Update 2002.
The pond in 2002 My Koi has settled in and I feel really happy but things can always be improved.
Garden dug up to take new pipes I had wanted to correct the way in which the water returns into the pond so that the weir could work more effectively. I once again I dug up the garden to lay some new pipes.
Filter system The system was shut down for four days during this time and I did not feed the Koi. I had also experienced low pH this is apparently due to the fibreglass lining. In order to try and correct the pH I added a second Bio Tube but filled it with Oysters shells as a buffer.
System ready to runn The system in now reconnected and ready to run. The conversion went well except for the one pipe that I did not seal properly as it enters into the pond.
Stuart's fish My pond is somewhat over stocked now, but never the less giving me much enjoyment.
Completed pond A birds eye view of the pond. I was lucky enough to return the two concrete chairs I had bought a year early and exchanged them for two statues that now keep a watchful eye on the Koi when I am not home. Keep an eye on this page as I am sure to change something again.

This website started with a booklet which I made up originally for the help of those members of the BKKS - South Wales Section who were intending to start building a koi pond, and as the website has expanded more information and articles from other people have been included. This is for general guidance only, and we do not take any responsibility for problems that might occur by following these ideas. It is important that you check out everything in your area, and check on local laws and rules that may apply.
