The hole system runs with a 3/4 hp swimming pool
that sucks the water from the last chamber (vegetable filter) and
then pumps it trough a 21" sand filter and finally the water returns
to the pond by 3 venturies and 3 water falls.
Maybe the arrangement and size questions the most accepted flow of onece to twice
the pond capacity per hour, my pond takes 6 hours to recycle all the water so
per day it only turns it over 4 times.
Left. This
is one of the three gargoyles that creates a continous waterfall
to the pond helping with the oxygenation process and water circulation. Right. This is an outside view of the overflow output that keeps
the water at a maximum level.
Left. Inside view of the same overflow output. Right. One of three venturies installed one foot under the
water level, and at the top can be seen the control valve.
This website started with a
booklet which I made up originally for the help of those members of the BKKS
- South Wales Section who were intending to start building a koi pond, and as the website has expanded more information and articles from other people have been included. This
is for general guidance only, and we do not take any responsibility for problems
that might occur by following these ideas. It is important
that you check out everything in your area, and check on local laws and rules
that may apply.
