Static Kaldnes K1 chamber

Static K1 unit in use

Static K1 unit empty

The new stainless steel unit which Andy has made up. On the left the unit is in normal use, and on the right we can see the unit before the K1 is added.
The pipe is 300mm thin wall stainless pipe used in the water industry, this was an off cut, and the perforated section was obtained from RS Components for £15 (two 500mm x 500mm sheets).
One section of the perforated sheets is tack welded onto the pipe and the rest is held together with stainless steel fixings.

The completed unit in normal use

The unit in use, and Andy is very happy with the results.
The temporary strap has been removed and it is now permantly secured with stainless steel bars.

This website started with a booklet which I made up originally for the help of those members of the BKKS - South Wales Section who were intending to start building a koi pond, and as the website has expanded more information and articles from other people have been included. This is for general guidance only, and we do not take any responsibility for problems that might occur by following these ideas. It is important that you check out everything in your area, and check on local laws and rules that may apply.
