Nexus Eazy

The information below is from the website of Evolution Aqua and is available here for your information. All the data and photo on this page is the copywrite of Evolution Aqua.

Evolution Aqua have now produced the Nexus Eazy. The Easy can be seen in this photo, and replaces the original blue cartridge, and is used instead of The Answer.
This new unit still has the Kaldnes Moving Bed on the outside section which acts as the biological filter, but now in the Eazy they also have static Kaldnes which acts as a mechanical filter.

Maintenance as described by Evolution Aqua.
The Nexus Easy is extremely easy and pleasurable to clean. The water pump is switched offand an air valve is operated which diverts air from the main Nexus air ring into the base of the Easy. This causes the K1 media to be agitated and cleaned vigorously, As this happens the captured particles are flushed out into the centre chamber of the Nexus, allowing you to see the amount of waste that has been filtered out. Once the K1 media has been agitated for a sufficient period the water in the central chamber is flushed to waste using the purge valve provided at the base of the nexus. Once clean the air flow is redirected back to the main air ring and the system started again. The whole process from start to finish can take less than two minutes and is so easy to do. The media can be checked that it is 100% clean after a maintenance cycle unlike closed systems. There is no maintenance whatsoever in the K1 biological stage.

Retro Kit for Nexus 200/300.
The Eazy is available as a retrofit for existing Nexus 200/300and quite a few koi-keepers have done this.

1. My 2500 gal pond is filtered by a Nexus 200 with an Eazy retrokit fitted . Prior to the Eazy I was relying on the foam to filter the heavy muck out, ok but difficult and messy to clean properly . Since fitting the Eazy in August cleaning has become a piece of cake literally , 3-4 mins per day and 5-6 mins weekly. No electric to pay for, and under half the price of an Answer. John Mc

This website started with a booklet which I made up originally for the help of those members of the BKKS - South Wales Section who were intending to start building a koi pond, and as the website has expanded more information and articles from other people have been included. This is for general guidance only, and we do not take any responsibility for problems that might occur by following these ideas. It is important that you check out everything in your area, and check on local laws and rules that may apply.
