Steve's pond

The new filter in the filter chamber

Every bit of space was utilised in the area I had as I did not want to knock down walls to increase the size of the area to fit the filter into.

Some of the pressure pipework The pipe work I used was welded type and designed for pressure over 1 bar.

The base of the filter after lowering The base of the filter had to be lowered by 2 inches to allow the filter to sit low enough and get the water levels correct.

Part of the base removed for the fluid bed filter To allow the fluid bed to sit low enough and let me close the lid 5 inches of concrete was cut and removed out of the base

A view of the completed pipework
A very compact installation all fully serviceable as it has no less than 8 union joints so UV tubes, fluid bed, etc can be serviced

This website started with a booklet which I made up originally for the help of those members of the BKKS - South Wales Section who were intending to start building a koi pond, and as the website has expanded more information and articles from other people have been included. This is for general guidance only, and we do not take any responsibility for problems that might occur by following these ideas. It is important that you check out everything in your area, and check on local laws and rules that may apply.
