| The bricks are being laid down by me I have never laid a brick in my life as I am a computer engineer by trade and it turned out ok i guess. It’s like playing with Leggo bricks I thought. And it is a good way to start learning laying my first brick in a curve around the edge of the pond. |

As I laid down more bricks I felt a bit more confidant and I decided to put in a very simple pattern in the brickwork as I was given a small amount of light coloured bricks and a quick calculation told me I would have enough to do it so off I went. |

The walls of the pond were a direct copy of Ron’s pond in the pond construction section of Koi Cymru. After much chewing it over and sleepless nights I decided this was the best way for me for my pond. It was wall tied and back filled with solid concrete a good decision i reckon “Thank you Ron”. |

| The filter section was built up and the holes were cut through the blocks there was one pipe fitting I laid down in the deep part of the pond just as an after thought and now this is the main clean water return. The top pipes are the gravity feed to the very small filter I thought would be more than enough for my needs. How very wrong it would turn out to be luck would be on my side and I did not loose any fish due to a under filtered pond. As I had never built anything like this before I went back to the bible of Koi Cymru and the answer was there for all to see more on this later. |

A supporting wall was laid down so I could put the water fall on four posts as I did not like the idea of the waterfall toppling into 5 feet of pond water and I would have to dive in to retrieve it and rescue squashed fish. |
