Another view of the pipework

These four photos show the inside of the filter room which is situated at the end of the pond. The main filtration unit is the Nexus 200, and this is fed from one 4" bottom drain.
The water is then pumped to the pond using a Sequence 1/4+. In the discharge line there is an industrial flow meter, and it then passes through a Pro Clear 55 watt UV, and a sight glass. It can control six feeds to the pond of which two are four feet deep, and four at six inches deep. All pipework connected to the pumps are class e solvent welded.

Alfie makes a good point that he changed the pipework five times till he got it right. He says a lot of patience is recommended as once the pond is fibreglassed and filled it is a bit late to do any big modifications.

This website started with a booklet which I made up originally for the help of those members of the BKKS - South Wales Section who were intending to start building a koi pond, and as the website has expanded more information and articles from other people have been included. This is for general guidance only, and we do not take any responsibility for problems that might occur by following these ideas. It is important that you check out everything in your area, and check on local laws and rules that may apply.
