Wayne & Heidi's pond - page 1

I am Wayne Barker from Cape Town South Africa. I am a self employed computer programmer. In April 2005 i bought my first house and wanted to have a small water feature in my garden, I went and bought a small fiberglass pond with a small pump and 4 gold fish.

My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we decided to build a real Koi pond. This pond is in loving memory of our baby boy Marcus Wayne Barker."
I started reading quite a bit about pond construction before attempting the mammoth task that lay ahead of us.
Before starting the pond I expected the construction to cost in the region of 8,000 Rand but I was gravely mistaken. At the end the pond construction cost 15,670 Rand and I just gave up trying to budget because there was so many surprises around every corner.
