This photo shows the filter
system which is situated in the workshop next to the pond. The
52,000btu gas boiler can be seen to the left. This is fitted
with a diverter valve and is used also to heat the workshop with
a large radiator. Priority is given to the pond heating.
The workshop is used by Bob for his other hobby of radio controlled
model plane making.
The four bay fibreglass filter system with
the drains can be seen. Sliding wooden covers have been fitted
on top of the filters.
The window that can be seen from the pond photo is just to the
left of this photo.
This photo shows a close up of the 100,000
btu heat exchanger and the 15 watt UV unit.
The thermostat for the system can be seen in the top centre of
the photo.
This website started with a
booklet which I made up originally for the help of those members of the BKKS
- South Wales Section who were intending to start building a koi pond, and as the website has expanded more information and articles from other people have been included. This
is for general guidance only, and we do not take any responsibility for problems
that might occur by following these ideas. It is important
that you check out everything in your area, and check on local laws and rules
that may apply.
