A Guide to Modern Koi Pond Construction |
||
These pages are designed to give some advise to koi keepers
in the UK who intend to build a pond, but are uncertain how to set about
designing and starting the project. There are many readers who do not live in the UK so they have to make their own decisions on what is appropriate in their own areas and I look forward to hearing from them. I have many friends in South Africa and the USA who have contributed to this website and look forward to their continued support. To have deep ponds with vertical sides then it is necessary to have
a solid construction. Quite a few of our members are building ponds
with concrete blocks, and then having them rendered and coated with
fibreglass, so this type of pond construction is the main topic of
this article. This website was made up several years ago and some of the information has been overtaken by later products. By choice many koi-keepers feel that the Nexus Easy is the best solution for the filter system if it is within your budget. All the methods on this website will still work and are being used by many koi-keepers. |

This website started with a booklet which I made up originally for the help of those members of the BKKS - South Wales Section who were intending to start building a koi pond, and as the website has expanded more information and articles from other people have been included. This is for general guidance only, and we do not take any responsibility for problems that might occur by following these ideas. It is important that you check out everything in your area, and check on local laws and rules that may apply. |
