Pond heating Thermostat |
|
| A thermostat needs to be fitted into the system to control the temperature of the pond water. | |

The thermostat used in this case is the Honeywell T67SA1607. During the winter monthe the differential is about one degree centigrade, but in the summertime it can be as low as half that. All the stainless steel heat exchangers have a thermometer pocket at the top, and the probe is placed into this. To ensure a good contact between the probe and the heat exchanger the pocket should be filled with oil. |

This shows one of several types of digital thermostats that are available on the market. The main selling point for them was that they were more accurate than the Honeywell thermostat, but this also caused a problem as the boiler used to cut in and out too often. The later products do not have this problem as they now have a differential of one degree centigrade. |
