Pond heating Hours counter |
|
| It is a good idea to fit an hours counter to the system as then you can check out exactly how long the boiler is operating. You can make a one off check at your main gas meter of how much gas is being used by the boiler during one hour, and then easily check the cost of running the boiler for one hour. A hours counter has not yet been fitted to this system, but will probably be added later. |

This photo shows another system and the hours counter can be seen in the centre of the photo. It is mounted on a stainless steel bracket.
TIP. The boiler shown here is a simple design and does not have any over-run time for the pump after the thermostat shuts down the boiler so the electrical connections are quite simple. It is also important to ensure that the boiler runs continously when required by the thermostat otherwise you will get a false reading. |

This is a close-up of the hours counter. It is a 230-240 volt unit and can be obtained from any large industrial electrical supplier, or similar types are available from R.S.Components. |
